Puentistas Raise Money for College-Going Activities

Puente students from East Los Angeles College "hustle year-round to sell tamales, bacon-wrapped hot dogs and coffee with pan dulce to pay for trips to visit colleges across California, mentorship and group activities, and graduation caps and gowns.are selling food to raise money for college-going activities."

Congratulations to the Class of 2019 Puente Scholars!

The Puente Project is proud to announce our annual Puente Statewide Academic & Leadership Award recipients.  An impressive 171 students throughout California sent in applications that were thoroughly reviewed for academics, community leadership involvement and personal statements.

In order to be considered for the award, applicants had to meet the following eligibility criteria:

Congratulations to Puente teacher Shelly DeSimone from La Serna High School, who was selected as the 2017-18 Whittier Union High School District Teacher of the Year!
