Congratulations to the Class of 2018 Puente Scholars!

The Puente Project is proud to announce our annual Puente Statewide Academic & Leadership Award recipients.  An impressive  202 students throughout California sent in applications that were thoroughly reviewed for academics, community leadership involvement and personal statements.

In order to be considered for the award, applicants had to meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Must have been in Puente English grade 9 and grade 10
  • Overall academic GPA of a 3.5 or higher
  • Be a full time 12th grade student enrolled in 5 or more academic courses
  • Demonstrate community leadership
  • Submit application on or before September to Puente Counselor
  • Submit official/unofficial transcript
